George Man
My father, Ah Man, passed away last month. He was the artist who did the opening title to the film and is credited as one of the artists. He worked with Geoff Dunbar at Grand Slamm Animation and met Paul McCartney during the making of the film.

My dad was given one of the animation cells from the film; it is of Rupert waving goodbye to Bill Badger and Edward Trunk at the beginning of the film.

My dad also worked on many television commercials in the 1980s and 1990s, for Grand Slamm and other animation studios including Oscar Grillo. He worked very hard and worked my late nights, which I will never forget. Our family miss he dearly and I wish he was still around to pass on his talent and knowledge to my daughters.

I was sixteen when this was released, A friend and I were obsessed with the bullfrogs 'bom-bom'bom' part and for weeks we would erupt in gales of laughter imitating them. Occasionally we'd sing the whole song through no matter where we were. Got some very pained glances from people several times as the song was being played everywhere and reaching that point where it's just too much of a good thing. British people do seem to love anthropomorphic animals quite a lot. Every so often now the song comes into my head and I find myself singing the bullfrog part as I'm waiting for the kettle to boil. Always makes me smile. My dog thinks I've lost my mind, but he's never heard the song. Maybe it's time I educate him ...

I remember in 1984 the animation team wanted to add glows and sparkles to some sequences so at Infovision where I worked - we used our Quantel Paintbox Computer frame by frame to videotape... Nice memories

My parents had this recorded on a beta tape and I almost wore it out when I was a kid. Truly one of my absolute favorites in addition to "give my regards to broad street".

When my son was on the way I would sing this to him every night and now that he's here I sing it to him before we go to bed. For now I just use the words go to sleep but eventually I will introduce him to the animated film and hopefully he will love it as much as I did.

Having grown up reading hand-me-down Rupert annuals, I'd never seen him on screen so when I saw the VHS in a local video rental shop in 1985 I had to rent it. The tape was in a bad way, a previous borrower must have emptied a hoover bag into their VCR because I was only able to watch it properly once I had run the tape through ours and then used a cleaning tape several times. That's a lot of work for a seven year-old, but it was worth it.

"Rupert" joined our household in 1984. I'd watch the film with my son Matthew, then one year old, sitting on the sofa and I'd sing along, making him laugh and me, laughing back and hugging him. He's now 37 and I'm....hmm. With the re-release, I think it's time we all sit together and relive those happily warm memories. Thank you, Paul, for helping to teach me how to be a dad.

Let’s talk about Rupert and the Frog Song. I remember when I had the VHS. With two bonus cartoons by Paul McCartney’s wife. Known as Linda McCartney. Seaside Woman & The Oriental Nightfish. However, the first logo was Family Home Entertainment. (F.H.E.) Saw it on the Disney channel too. Now I have the DVD, including Tropic Island Hum & Tuesday. It’s better that way.

Me dad bought my siblings and I the Rupert And The Frog Songs VHS back in 1989, and I absolutely fell in love with the video and can't remember how many times I've played it. Till this day when I see frogs, I get the urge to sing We All Stand Together!! This film, in me eyes, is a true classic and I recommend for all to show their children and grandchildren.
Katie Fraser
Just wonderful hearing this classic which summed up my childhood for me! I loved The Frog Song. My mum absolutely adored it too as she was a fan of Paul McCartney and bought the record and I remember Ladybird bringing the book out. Just the best ever and it still never lost its appeal
Ruth Barron.
Oh my gosh there's must be thousands of frogs in Rupert & The Frog Song. I just can't count them all.
David
Now my six grandchildren visit and walk around the house making frog sounds to the video......umm Grandpa sings along too.

I was only 4 or 5 when i saw Rupert and the frog song for the first time and till today it's always on my mind. the frogs jumping and singing... how about the noisy fish or sing-a-long cats? you know, i have a parrot and this is his favorite song. everytime he hears it he starts to dance up and down just like the frogs and he also sings it. it's very funny!

Just looked at the website out of interest because I have a copy of the original 1958 rupert annual with the illustration that inspired the video. Very interesting
Sally
We incorporated the song into a rendition of Silent Night. The two men sang 'Bom, bom, bom,' two girls sang 'byieeya' and two sang 'Silent night'. So it went 'bom, bom, bom. byieeya, bom, bom, bom, byieeya,Silent Night, byieeya, holy night, byieeya...' With boms in the background. It worked. Okay, we got booed.
Sime
I was 12 in 1984 and I remember that the tape with "we all stand together" song almost got used how many times I re winded and listen again and again... so many great memories! Thank you Paul, lots of love...
Amanda
This song reminds me of being 6 years old and full of the magic and wonder that Christmas as a child brings. I can't believe there is a whole website for this song!! Love it.
Nicola E
I remember watching this film with my grandparents when I was little, all my cousins and my brother would all rush to find a space to watch it. I think it was the longest time all 6 of us were quiet. I would love to buy the original film on DVD for my grandparents as they only had this on tape for the Betamax video player and haven't watched it since.
Paul Gerard McMahon
It's a beautifully positive song
Rachel
I am 26 years of age and American. I used to watch this film any chance I could get. It was my dream to be a part of the Frog Song and sometimes you never know how much you missed something until it was gone for a while.
Dylan Smith
I'm only 14 now but evry year i listen to this at Christmas eve its an amazing song i listen to it whilst drinking a nice warm hot chocolate with wippycream and sprinkles

I love the frog's chorus
Tobi
My cousins and I used to listed to Rupert and the Frog Song before going to bed each night during the summer when we were together. We knew all the words to the song and the story. I recently found a copy of the book for my own kids (ages 2 and 3) but I'm still searching for a copy of the cassette so they can be transported to the magical land of Rupert just like we used to be!
Damon L
I remember this song from my childhood, and now sing it to my three month old daughter, she loves it and it always settles her, still great after all these years!
Pranav
I like Rupert Bear, he is so lovely and AWESOME! I like your game called The frog maze too.
Josh
I loved the 2 song on the video. They were awesome!
Natascha Roosemalen
My memory of this song is that I was small and I thought it was beautiful! It reminds me of my first dog, Sheena, who died aged only 5 years old. I used to hear this song all the time when I was younger and so now I associate it with her.
Yohannleidy (Venezuela)
This is the best movie of the world, I watched the movie when I was a little girl and now I just watch the movie again and I fell like a child. Linda was a wonderful woman and I hope that she stand on a beautiful place. Thank you for that movie and if you can Paul bring it to the big screen.
Paul Smith
I find it very funny cuz i look like the frog i love him x
Paul Swainsbury
My favourite character from Rupert is badger. I watched him over and over again. I used to always sing the theme song of Rupert and the Frog Song, but sometimes i forget the words...so I just hummed them otherwise.
Lesley Fowler
I like Rupert and the Frog Song because its relaxes me. I sit back on my swinging arm chair and sing the words to it.
Hayley Mallett
My little boy used to love his video of the frog song he used to sit in front of the TV and watch it over and over again. He's now 25.
Jemima
I remember watching this when I was three or four years old with my sister and cousin. My cousin still has her original copy which is very worn as it was a favourite with all of us, even my mum and aunt.

My mum and I were feeling nostalgic last week and so looked on eBay to see if there was a dvd version. Unfortunately none of the dvds had Seaside Woman or The Oriental Nightfish which was very disappointing as I love all three.

In the end I got a video which arrived today in the post. I was so excited I watched it straight away, it was fantastic, took me right back. Although I will have to watch it again later with mum!

And just to say, Rupert, Seaside Woman and The Oriental Nightfish have been together for over 20 years, why split them up now?! 🙂
Amy Gilewska
I think this was the first video I ever got and I still have it in the original cardboard box. It has me and my sister's name, in crayon, on the inside, just like the welcome page for the site. Still love this film. The Linda McCartney short scared me for quite a while, but love Seaside Woman. A new advert on tv reminded me of how wonderful this film is. I'm so going to find it on DVD now.
Martha Kaiser
Hi all! 🙂

I'm from Argentina. When I was 6 my 2nd grade teacher brought a copy of this song to class and we all watched it. I still remember how excited and delighted we all were by the frogs, the golden fish, the king and queen. Everything so magical...

Back then in Argentina people were celebrating the 1st anniversary of the return of democracy after many years of a cruel military regime. So were we all happy even though were very young to understand many things. So those were very special times and the lyrics of this song are very meaningful and beautiful. Thanks for this lovely memory that lingers after so many years...

Martha Kaiser 🙂

I had just started going to uni when the Frog Song was released but I've always been a kid at heart.

It was a time when my brother and I had our first tastes of adult freedom - as I was off to the 'Big Smoke' and my brother had moved out into his first 'flat', a lovely old two bedroom Victorian terrace overlooking the main road in our hometown. When I was home from uni I stayed with him at his flat rather than at Mum's. We had video parties there and watched late night music video shows. All us kids were long term Beatles and McCartney fans. That's when we fell in love with The Frog Song.

Sadly my lovely brother got leukaemia 4 1/2 years ago and died in January of a chest infection. With the family all gathered around the table planning his loving farewell, our other brother suggested this song because it was a favourite. It was too hard for me to listen to then, but I often sing it now as the words have come to hold an added meaning for me.

And coincidently my lovely brother's nickname was always 'Fred' - our mum always calling him 'Fred Frog'.
Ria
My mum & dad separated when I was about 3. This little film is one of the very few memories I have of when my mum & dad were together. My dad is a massive Beatles fan & owns everything by them as a group & as individuals, hence him buying this. He then had to buy a second copy for me! I can remember sitting on his knee watching it with him & singing along. It makes me cry every single time I watch it. I still sing it to him & my brother now, as well as Seaside Woman. Play the game, fight the fight, but what's the point on a beautiful night? If only everyone followed the Frogs wisdom!!!!
Jenn
My aunt gave me a picture record with Rupert and Paul McCartney on it. It was one of my favorite records as a child and I still have it today.
Adam Taylor
The frog song was my first ever record, mum and dad bought it for me when i was about 5/6, started collecting lovely Rupert annuals 2 yrs ago!

Latest annual- oh dear, oh dear! what have they done!?
Rebecca
I have wonderful memories of us all watching it at my childminder's house.

Mary below - I'm so pleased to learn that someone else remembers the beach song on the video! I wondered if perhaps my childminder had taped it, and that the scene was something that just happened to be on tv at the time...

If anyone happens to know anything about it, I'd love to know!
Mary
Our video (old Betamax version!) was THE no. 1 favourite with our children in the early eighties - I have such happy memories of us all sitting round our little old TV watching this. They have now all fled the nest, but I could not resist buying the dvd recently to surprise them when we occasionally all get ('stand') together! A local hill has a small tree at the top where we often took a picnic and hot air balloons are a common site here in the summer (the Chilterns); naturally the hill was named 'Rupert's Hill' by our children, neighbours and friends then began to refer to it as such, and it is still recognised as Rupert's Hill over 20 years later! However - correct me if I'm mistaken - on the original video I recall a glorious little song, set on a tropical beach, a little girl cooking (fish?) with her Mum, and another song, 'Oriental Nightfish'. When ordering the dvd I assumed it would be a copy of the original video and so I'm a bit disappointed that these two lovely songs are not on it. Please can anyone tell me if these are available on another dvd and what should I look out for?
Ellen Harris
Hi i remember when my mum & dad used to play the frog song for me as i was going to sleep, and my dad used to recored the cartoons off the tv and i used to make my uncle watch them with me for hours at a time.

And now i have collected all the annuals and i have all the little rupert bear library and i have a talking rupert bear that has human hands
i LOVE rupert bear and i'm getting a tattoo of rupert and podgy lol.

they should never of animated him,
thanks Ellen
Amanda
I am a massive Rupert fan. I am pleased to find out that Paul McCartney was also a huge fan and hence Rupert and the Frog Song came about.

When I was young, I would read the annuals and escape into Rupert's fantasy world. Once Rupert is in your system, that's it. I now collect all the annuals and comics and love them just as much now as I did as a child.

A lovely site, Matt.
Tammy
The song was very good and it was the best song i heard for kids...
Wimsley
I think the Rupert video and this website is very cute!

I knew Rupert from the Nelvana series here in America growing up but when I met my husband from the Isle of Man, he went on and on about this frog song I'd never heard of. Several ebay searches later, we got a VHS copy of it and had it converted. I can tell it was a huge part of his growing up and it has certainly grown on me as well.
Jean Wharton
Wonderful, wonderful song. Time for innocence!
Erica Morton
I have grown up with Rupert. My late mum had brought the annuals each year and i promise her the night before she died that i would continue to get the annals each year. i have kept the promise and continue to do so.
Jean
I have loved Rupert for as long as I can remember, my first Rupert was thrown on the fire by my mum, I never forgave her for that, the replacement was an ordinary teddy that soon lost it's ears plus. As I grew older Rupert didn't feature in my life until about ten years ago when I went to a do in Valentines Park in Ilford, Essex and bought a garden Rupert and from that time I have become a member of the followers of Rupert and own many Rupert items including Annuals, Cuddly Ruperts, plates, cups, mugs, keyrings, bookends I have even got a beaker showing the new Rupert, all my things I get off ebay and last year I treated myself to a talking Rupert, the new one, from Boots, I am 63 now and as one of my fridge magnets states growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional.
Neil Scobie
Sang this at a recent karaoke night - I was amazing!!!!
Dee - Waterford
I remember getting the book and audio tape from Santa many moons ago, plus the added bonus of a walkman to play it on!!! The tape wore out long before the book sadly, but will always love that song!!!
Lyndy
Oh my goodness! I had no idea it was out on dvd, fantastic. I played it so much when I was little eventually it wore out!

I always remember being slightly scared by 'The Oriental Nightfish' video!

Good times!
Sally, Kent
Love it!!!

I watched my video so many times, that eventually the sound wore out!!! sad times, totally getting it on dvd, to relive my childhood.
Oscar Soriano
Hello everyone, I'm from Mexico City and when I was a kid I used to watch the video clip of the song when our local kids channel ( Channel 5 ) started or ended transmissions during the 80's, I LOVED this song along with my family and now that I'm 31 It brings me back memories when I was a Kid, Beautiful!
Lynda, derbyshire

Krystie P
The X-factor final, an indian takeaway and many beverages later... sing star showed us the way forward, not only myself but mole, liz and kirsten too... WE ALL STAND TOGETHER!!!
Benjamin - Cornwall, UK
Although I was born in 1984, we did have a video and always remembered being disappointed when the song had finished and Rupert had to go home. Excellent!
Clare
Shopping and finding the video then getting home and watching it. I love the video and always sing along.
Lorraine
Rupert is my number one hero, I will be eagerly unwrapping my annual on christmas day ready to read over the next few nights of christmas, it just wouldn't be christmas without my annual...I love the frog song I have it on my phone and play it all the time.

And I'm only 44 years young lol!!!
Alx
This was even played in Mexico back in 1984 !
I was only 3 and they transmitted the clip just before a children program. I dunno why I thought on searching it and found this site. I got goosebumps all over just by hearing it again. Thanks for taking me back to my childhood.
Claire Ashton (Uttoxeter, England)
This is probably one of my earliest memories. We had Christmas at our Nanna and Grandad's in Manchester and my brother and I used to say that the 2 frogs on the lily pad were our mum and dad kissing. We watched it so many times, bopping to it and singing bom bom bom iya! It's a classic Christmas song which never fails to bring a smile to my face when I hear it now. Claire (31)
Kristin - New York, USA
My brother and I used to watch this ALL THE TIME when we were kids. We thought the 3 big frogs singing "bom, bom, bom" were so funny! For years I had this song in my head and no one knew what I was referencing when I asked if they had seen it as a kid too. Now, I finally know my brother and I were not alone in loving the frog song so much! It is one of my favorties from childhood.
Andy Titterton
I remember this because as a young child in the sixties, I was passed down the 1958 annual which contains the story that this was based on. The 1958 annual started my collection, and I now have all the annuals - but nothing to play the record on!
Michelle Lavelle
In 1986 I 8yrs old and remember so clearly the frogs and rupert. 22 years on from this now and myself and my fiance were talking about it last night and he text me this morning to let me know it was on 2fm. My favourite Christmas song. Takes me back to my childhood. x x x
Carla
I had a thought about this yesterday and was horrified when my partner said he had never seen it. So ensued a hunt to find it and came across your website, thanks for the memories!!
Joanne Cummins
My husband bought this for me the year after my daughter was born. Played the song so many times that we almost wore the tape out. Sadly it's no longer watchable. Very fond memories.
Scott
I remember this fondly as a child, myself and brother used to watch it over and over and over...... I came across "The Snowman" last week, too so the childhood memories are coming back at a time when I have my own children to share them with.
Dave
Don't no where 2 start bout rupert n the frogs, my childhood song, i still got my original VHS & signed from 24 years ago! Im 30 now & me & my family love it.
Caroline
Oh happy memories, my mum bought me Rupert and the Frog Song on VHS when I was about 9 or 10. We would both curl up on the sofa and sing along whilst watching. I still have the VHS and now 20 years later I do the same with my daughters and they love it too. What surprises me is that the tape doesn't even seem to show any signs of wearing out despite the thousands of times it's been watched over the years.
Luke
I remember this was one of the first cartoons I saw- my brother and I used to watch the video of it over and over. And as an adult I still enjoy it so much.
Ali L
This was my fave song as a 5year old, I loved it so much I cried when it came on tv, and when my mum asked what was wrong I said "I'm crying cos I'm soooo happy!"
Emmie Yeo
The frog song reminds me of my nan and grandad they used to let me watch it only if I was a good girl. I loved singing along to it. xx
Katie
This was my only record as a child and I played it over andover again. Me and my husband now sing this song to our baby boy every night as his bedtime lullaby. We love it.
Gemma Stephens
I loved this film as a small child and am going to buy the DVD for my beautiful goddaughter and my little cousin! They don't make kids films like this anymore.. such a shame..
Gemma and Abi Capes
We watched this film over and over again as kids its just magic to us, and we know it will be to our children too!
Graham Butcher
Someone earlier said they couldn't find their odd shaped picture disc of the song......well i can as i made it into a clock and it hangs on the wall directly in front of me as i write this!
The multi image side is the face of said clock. As my kids have grown it has spent time in all of their rooms along with other pieces of Rupert memorabilia.

And no, i wouldn't part with it on any account...along with the Annuals it remains very precious to me....even if i am 50!!!!
Sassi Kitty
I could swear that I've seen this beautiful movie briefly a few times, but the animation is just wonderful, the animation was just wonderful and the colour was beautiful, I found the barn owl and the black cats a little scary though but at least they didn't do much, that one frog song there was just beautiful though
Michelle Merry
I loved this film when i was growing up in the 80s, just listening the song reminds me of being a child, it is a fantastic film which i had forgotten all about.
Antonio Vargas
I'm from Mexico City, and this video was transmitted everyday at 8:00 PM (right after The Thundercats). It makes me remember my childhood (I was like 6 or 7 years old). It almost make me cry yesterday someone tell me that he find it in You Tube. THANKS FOR KEEPING THE MAGIC ALIVE!!!
Martin Bushell
Great great memories of this song - Christmas as a child in England...playing in the snow, mince pies and simpler times. It's hard not to get melancholy at Christmas

When I was young in 1990, I listened to an album called Rupert the bear, in this moment I was very happy for the melodys and lyrics that was entering in my ears was the more beautiful experience since I was a simple boy, thanks for the children music, thanks PAUL...
Brenda
When I was a little girl,my parents gave me a movie for Christmas. It was Rupert and the frog song. I LOVED that movie. I am now 24 and I can still hear and see the movie whenever I need to get away from adult stresses. I close my eyes and remember a time when my innocence was so pure. The ultimate of all hiding places and Rupert made it all. My younger brother of 21 just listened to the sound clip n he got the glisten of innocence in his eye n it made that hard bottom boy shed a tear. Thank you for the childhood memories! We will NEVER forget!
Claire Rees

Karen Cain
I remember Christmas as a child and this was on Top of the Pops. If every I think of this short film it reminds me of that time...MAGICAL!
Monika Romero
This is like my first book that I read because when I watched it I was only 3 and I didn't know how to read. There is a video in where in the beginning Paul is holding a book which has Rupert on the cover and then the whole frog song begins. I remember perfectly that after seeing this I wanted to learn how to read because it was magic what you could imagine just by reading. Of course, years later I tried to get the whole Rupert and the Frog Song which was very difficult because I'm from Mexico but I finally got it. Nowadays I'm into Children's Literature. All thanks to this video. My Regards from Mexico City. xxxxx
James
This is a song that was used to hold my mum my sister and me together after a run of bad luck whilst i was a child and is still used to keep us together.

Some good and Bad Memories But very Special.
Lauren
In some ways this song makes me feel a bit sad but in many ways it makes me feel happy.
Ali
I used to watch this on repeat with my sister and step brother Michael, i'll always remember this song, it makes me tingle inside and takes me back to feeling like a child.
Angela
I remember watching this with my dad when i was very young. He was such a McCartney fan! I loved Rupert and the Frogs, and also enjoyed "Seaside Woman" What Great Memories, and would pass this down to my children.. now they love it too!!!
Astrid
I got to know this song because of Paul McCartney.

Now, I just love Rupert and the frogs!
Clarinda
Every night before going to bed I wanted to look at Rupert and the frogs, it would help me getting to sleep.

I really love the song and the film it is something every child deserves to see once in his life ...
Magic Bunny
I remember watching this on Saturday Superstore and still have it on VHS when the closing credits come on with the balloons. My Mum used to call for me every time it was on and I'd sit transfixed in front of the screen. I was nine and my friends and I used to sing it in the school yard. I have a huge nostalgic lump in my throat now. This is a great site - well done! x
Lisa Bryant
I absolutely loved this when I was little. My mum used to put it on and I would just watch it over and over. I loved it when he creeped behind the waterfall and first saw all the frogs. When I saw it again as an adult I nearly cried! Does anyone recall the short animations that were shown after Rupert? There was one with a little Jamaican girl?
Katie Fraser
I loved this cartoon as a child! It was so beautiful and the way that it was animated was so great! I remember having tears in my eyes when the song came on and my family did too! We also had the ladybird book and record too I remember! The intro with Paul going into the attic is a vivid memory for me and getting the book out of that treasure chest!
Kevin London
My brother had this on video and I remember when it came out when I was a nipper, i;m 31 now and bought a DVD from play.com the Paul McCartney animation collection. I now have a 10 month old daughter that loves it too. She watches it every day and seems to be intrigued by it, it certainly keeps her quiet.
Katrina UK
I was a child in the 80's and absolutely loved this song! I remember watching it on Top Of The Pops and singing and swaying along! If it was released in 1984, it means I was just 5 yrs old, but I remember it like it was yesterday. I still love listening to the song, not only because it is positive and uplifting, but it brings back some great memories.

For all you frog song fans out there, you can now buy it on iTunes! (We can in the UK anyway).
Jenny
I loved this song so much as a kid. I taped it off the Disney Channel and have spent years trying to find it! What a great website. if only I could buy it
Elanor
We had this recorded off the Disney channel on a BETA tape when I was a kid. I watched it until the tape grew old and the machine itself broke. I miss rupert and the frog song! Good to know that its still around to show my kids eventually!
Glen Riley
After seeing this website I now know that I was born to be a frog!!

Bom, bom, bom..... We all stand together!!
Wicky
After looking at the site, I now can't get out of my head "bom bom bom". He-he!
Freeman
What nostalgia! This website has made my day! Thank you!
Erica
I heard this for the first time in years yesterday on my boss's laptop! Immediately, I recalled fond memories of a warm summer's night listening to this on my friend's record player. We must have played it 10 times that night, each taking turns singing the lyrics! 🙂

Top song!!
Sarah M
I've been a Rupert fan since childhood, but didn't hear the Frog Song until I bought the vinyl when I was a teenager. I loved the song so much that I put it in my yearbook write-up when I graduated in 2006.
Kim
This cartoon is REALLY sweet. Love it!
Alessandro
I was under the shower this morning when suddenly I recall the tune of a song that I used to like when I lived in England 20 years ago (I am Italian). The all thing came back to my mind and still wet I searched on the net where I found this website that took me back in Surrey to my landlady's home in front of the telly watching the movie!

Thanks a lot for this Matt!
Wayne K.
Rupert and the frog song is one of my beloved memories from my younger years. What a great song and superb video. I can still get people to sing along to it with me now 🙂
Rosie Herrera
I love Rupert's theme song. When the shows starts. I haven't been able to find that song. Too bad for me!
Ceri
I always loved the noise of his shoes on the cave floor :o) !!!!!!!! And what on earth was that Oriental Nightfish thing about at the end, LOL!

I was very young and small, and wore a red jumper and I was in front of the telly when this song was on and my mum was in the garden with with my father. I remember I thought NOW I CAN CRY CAUSE THEY CAN'T SEE ME CRYING . So I cried. And I still do when I hear this song! Anyway I was totally clueless about the lyrics and stuff because I didn't understand English, but I love the lyrics now that I can understand them

I first saw this short film when I was an infant. After 16 years I saw it again and I love the music, animation, and We All Stand Together because it is so uplifting, the message of the song is beautiful and it can make you happy. It's one of my most favorite songs I heard and Rupert is one of my favorite short animated films. Paul does a great job playing Rupert and I think that is very cool. Thanks Rupert and Paul for this short film and for the beautiful uplifting music.

I wish i was in rupert bear.

We were just talking about childhood memories, when my brother started singing the " frog song" so i had to find it! we used to have a rupert bear video and it was always are favourite part! listening to it brought back some wonderful forgotten childhood memories!
Hugo Estrada
I saw this song as a child in Mexico in the 1980s. They would play the song in between cartoons. For some reason they edited out Paul, so the context was lost. i spent about 15 years looking for the name of the song until I ran into it by chance in wikipedia. Now my children can enjoy the song as I did when I was a child.
Dave (aged 47 and a bit)
During the local music quiz, discovered that myself and the next door neighbour both love the frog chorus. the song was panned by critics at the time of it's release- but what do they know. i personally think it's a christmassy song and would enhance many a compilation. to that end i burned a christmas compilation including the frog chorus - worked a treat.
Tina Malpass
Bought for my children by their much loved late aunty.

Really fond memories of sitting watching it with them and singing along!

Would love to get a copy on DVD for any future grandchildren!!

I always loved the Frog Song, so what a delight when my husband mentioned that he loved it too!! Now we just have to find the video to download it and show it to our little girl.
Lee Johnstone
Memories galore! Hayley now 23 bouncing up and down on the settee singing ''Bom, Bom, Bom' and Natalie now 21 cowering when the nasty owl and the cats enter the show! Yvonne (my wife) and I searched high and low for the video last night to play at a 'childhood memories' theme get together at a friends house at the weekend. The video brought tears to my eyes as I reminisced over the precious times I spent with my two girls watching Rupert's exciting adventure and joining in his bold warning to the frogs to, 'Look Out!'
Superb website Matt, really enjoyed every minute checking it out.
Louisa Aitchison
I was on cruise ship and part of one of the shows was to include the children from the kids club. we rehearsed for 2 days and we sang the frog chorus on board. It was great fun to do. no my family wont ever forget it as it is brought up nearly every christmas!!!
Michelle
I had the Paul McCartney and the Frog Chorus record bought for me Christmas 1984, in fact I ended up with two copies of the disc (one is a shaped picture disc, which I never really played much) but I still have and play the 7" vinyl copy, but I do still have the picture disc as well! i used to love the music video with Rupert looking at the singing frogs...and I liked the B side as well, the humming version of the song. I think I drove my parents mad because I kept playing the record over and over....
Emma
I had a dream about the frog song last night and when I came into work today I could only find one other person who remembered it!!

So with the help of this wonderful website I have been educating my department!

I was just 4 years old and I went to the shops with my mome. My nan was also with me and she asked if I knew rupert and I said no. Oh the memories.... now 29 and going to look for it on DVD 🙂

I remember this adorable little film from back when i was little, im 13 now, and i need to hear "We all stand together" sometimes to make me happy, i had the Rupert tape back in the mid 90s when i was about 1-5 years old, it was passed down from my older cousin who owned it in the 80s. Who remembers "Seaside Woman" and "Oriental Nightfish"? Wow, memories that bring tears to my eyes.
Anne
Last night I watched the dvd of Rupert and the Frog song, it was 23 years ago and brought back beautiful memories from my childhood 🙂
Nick Walton
The other night I found Rupert bedsheets and put them on my bed then tonight bored on the internet I found the frog song. It has been etched into my mind since a young age...what a song, it will live on in the hearts of our generation and already we can see some of the next generation experiencing it. This is not really a memory anymore; it is more a hope for the future, keep this song and the short story that came along with it alive!
Robert Shark
I love the frogs!!!
Jonny Hawkshaw
I think that that song is very funny. It makes me smile!
Suze Williams
I've not heard this song since I was about 4 years old, and for some reason it just randomly popped into my head this evening!

I'm glad I found this site because I needed to hear it again after all these years (I'm 26 now) and it definitely brought a tear to my eye as I remember me and my older brother always going around singing it!
Jose M Alvarez
I bought this video long time ago but didn't pay much attention. However, now my children (7 and 4) love it and have even taken the video tape to school so as their teachers can play it for all their classmates!!!
Claire Scawn
I love this song and asked my mum to buy the record for me, bring it back.
Laura
I'd always say to my dad, "Dad, Dad, when's the show going to start Dad?" And I still do. Absolutely classic. 🙂

1984 was a difficult time in my life as I was growing up. The frog song got me through some troubled times. I'll never forget the frogs

The Frog Song has brought many smiles to our faces here on operations in Iraq, remembering the words and singing along.

Thanks Paul.
Thanks Rupert.

Although it has been more than 20 years since I first saw it, I never forgot about this wonderful piece of animation. Until I discovered this site, I knew little about its history. Thank you for sharing this with us!
Iced Rose
After not seeing it for years I have always remembered the magic of the music in my memory, especially the video for it. A magnificent piece of work, a credit to those who wrote and produced it. This music should be given to all children along, packed together with their toys...
Jasmin
For years I have been looking for this song. It moves me, entrances me and just for a moment it returns me to my loved childhood. I hope that many people can share the feelings of this song. Greetings to all.
Tessa Rigby
I remember hearing this when i was very young in Happy Mount Park, Morecambe, Lancashire. Every year they always had displays with many shows, including Duckula and the Flintstones. We had to explore a bit to see the Frog Song, but it was worth it. I have loved it since that moment, and will forever
James Cameron
I loved this so much when I was little. And my sister loved it too. The video is still in the family and now that I am 27 and am now a Daddy my son is going to be educated in the ways of the frog song also. Great site thanks you for bringing back so many fond memories.
Paul
Always loved it, always will.
Craig Morris
Aaah, How I used to constantly watch this when I was a toddler! My Mom always reminds me about how I used to bug her every day after to school, to "Put the Frog Song on Mommy!" Hehe, this is one of my all-time favourite animations and I'll never forget it. Took me a long time to find the DVD, as I no longer own the VHS...
Katie Poulton
We had this song on 7inch vinyl when i was younger it brings back lots of happy child hood memories 🙂

Ashleigh
I remember watching this delightful video when I was a young girl. It was made a few years before I was born and I'm not too sure as to how my sister and I ended up with this movie. We would watch it together hours on end, sometimes too much. I'd bug her by playing the frog song over and over and over again until we pretty much wore the tape out. It was only until this afternoon I had forgotten about it and I'm not sure what made me remember it. What a wonderful treat Sir Paul McCartney has made!
Michael Tonkin
Absolutely brilliant! I used to love the frog song as a young boy. I remember sitting in front of the TV singing along to it. My mum said it was my favourite song for years.

This site has brought back a lot of memories - thank you.
Iris S, Washington State, USA
I remember my three girls (and I) all watching Rupert and the Frog Song endless times, never once becoming tired of it. It was full of adventure, joy, wonder and love and when I hear it I'm taken back to those blissfully happy times and the smiling faces of my children. Of all of Sir Paul McCartney's songs (and I am a life-long fan) the Frog Song holds a very unique and special place in my heart - it is pure magic.
Annemarie Koenen - Manders from Holland
My husband sang this song a lot for our son. He became calm and quit. He cried al lot. Now we have a little baby girl. Now he sings it again and she likes it to. Our son recognized it and sings it whit his father for his sister. It's realy amazing what this song can do. Thank you
Rosie by the Rhine
Whilst heading out into the countryside for a walk I came to the large pond on the edge of the village and was amazed at the cacophony I could hear. The ponds was full with frogs and toads calling to each other! I have never heard anything like it, it was so loud and reminded me of the Frog Song and how we loved reading the book and singing the song to our sons all those years ago!
Lilian Bueno, from Brazil
The frogs song is a magic through generations. My son is only 4 years old and he loves Rupert and the frogs song. Thank you Paul, thank you musicians, thank you Geoff Dunbar. Inspiration, love, friendship, what more can I say? We all stand together...
Jason Govey, Bournemouth UK
I actually had the video on a beta, thats how old it is and i was and am! My dad even tried to get it recorded onto normal VHS but with not much luck, not only did i watch the video to death, its just a song that reminds me of being young, So simple its actually fantastic and it still brings a smile to my face even now!
Paul, Bristol - UK
My colleague who sits next to me at work hums the frog song all the time (can get really annoying). Not seen the film before, will keep my eyes peeled for it on DVD.
James Aragona
WOW, I remember watching this film before, I was very little seeing this. I saw Rupert and the frog song on the Disney channel and luckily recorded it too. I must say the animation is still amazing to this very day. No CGI movie can beat a traditional animation movie. A few years later, probably one of my favorite cartoon shows as a kid "Rupert" and I said, I remember this guy. Recently, I'm getting my ideas together for Art school and I happen to run into Rupert again. I started to watch the old show again and It's still magical and funny to this very day.

Rupert Rocks!!!
Alistair
I never realised this song was tied to Rupert. I often find myself humming the tune and wondering where I have heard it before. Now thanks to this website I know. I think I must be too young to remember where I heard it originally.
Liz Macfie
I hadn't realised there was a film until a few days ago, but my sister and I used to annoy our parents by singing along to the cassette in the car (I guess it's their fault for putting it on!).

We even made up actions.... :oS
Carol Butler
I have to admit, this story always scared me when I was younger. I didn't have the film (I didn't even realise it was one until today!) but we had the book which came with a cassette which had McCartney narrating it. And I must admit I couldn't quite place my finger one what disturbed me, but after seeing this website, I can remember exactly what... the owl!! Those red eyes! Who wouldn't be freaked out by that?? But that song sure is catchy!
Gemma
It has a good memory, my mum bought me the book and a few years ago i got it signed by paul and linda. its hard back first edition but will never sell it
Helen (Lumpy)
I used to own this song on a VHS along with another lovely animated feature (it was really weird, had a woman and loads of abstract pipes and weirdness)

Anyway; I used to love the frog song... I would watch it SO much... I don't think I have seen it since I was around 5 years old...

Gosh, such memories...
Elena Coulston
My memory of the Frog chorus means a lot to me, cos it was around about the time I met my now husband, I was very young, just 16 years old and he was a couple of years older than me, I used to sing it to him very affectionately whenever it came on the tv or radio, I loved the song then and I love it now, I am 37 now and we are still together.
Claire Johnston
My 9 year old son has been singing the frog song for the last few days around the house as he has learnt it as part of assembly singing at his junior school. The lyrics mean so much more to me now as a parent than it did to me as a teenager. Well done Sir Paul! Nostalgia rules!!!!
Paul R.
I had a betamax tape of the frog song i used to watch religiously when i was a little kid, i came across it this morning and showed it to my 3 year old daughter. She dug it, although i think i enjoyed it a bit more than she did! thanks a million for this gem...
Rachel Bolden
I had this on video and managed to find it like 6 years ago, but it was ruined :o( so upset!!!!!
James Naylor, Maryland USA
l always thought that those frogs were toads!! LOL!! Are we sure that they weren't toads??!
D Wright
I had to wait four weeks longer than most people to get Rupert on video - we had to order the Betamax version, as my Dad didn't "do" VHS...

But it was worth the wait and the extra pennies!

I do have the new DVD, but I am sorely missing Seaside Woman and The Oriental Nightfish - if you see this Paul, get them released too!!!!
Emma
When i was young, i used to sing this at play school and younger children thought i was weird. but then my parents leant them the video and they all loved it! I love this song. I am 15 now and still love it! I just wish i could have the song on my computer. I would be so happy
Ninke (ning-ka)
This is one of the first songs I actually have a memory of. My father recorded it for me when I was little and I rewound it over and over and over and over again. I love it!!!
Kate
Thank you for the best song ever to come out when i was a kid. i can remember sitting in the front room with my sister and top of the pops came on and that music started and i felt i was there! Singing along holding on tight to my sisters hand telling her to keep her voice down or we would be chased out and we would have to wait another 200yrs. Then the frogs come to an end and i can here my mum calling and i wake up. wot a fantastic song to make kids have dreams like that Thank you macca.
Niall
Thank you so much Paul McCartney! My favourite memory of the frog song is when I was 5 years old skipping through the beautiful strawberry fields of Wexford, with a punnet in one hand and my little brother Paulie holding the other. It brings tears to my eyes every time I think of it. Thanks Paulie for all the wonderful times xxx
Donal, Ballyshannon
I love this song so much, I used to listen to it all the time when I was a wee cub. It brings tears to my eyes everytime I listen to it as it reminds me of my family all singing it in the car on our holidays.
Mariana
I had this song in the back of my head since I was three but I didn't know what song it was until someone in Porto where I live, told me it was by Paul McCartney...I downloaded it and cried the first time I heard it in years. Its so beautiful and magical..I hope songs like this will be created when I have children of my own!
Laura
I had the frog chorus on record when i was 3 years old, but someone stole it! :o(
Steve Wood
I've always loved the song and video.and when my son was old enough, he loved it too. I wish paul would make a full length film of it. If you ever read this Paul, thanks for giving so much great music to the world.
Eoin
I've always loved magic, and you don't get much more magic than this song! Rupert the bear is the original Harry Potter!
Damieh
When I heard this song I fell in love with it immediately! Paul McCartney has written so many amazing songs, but this one has touched me like none of the others. Thank you Paul!
Erin
I love this song, i've had so many good nights listening to this song,it brings back so many memories.
Emily, Dublin
Growing up in Cork, we used to get the family round every Sunday after Mass to listen to this song, like. When they all harmonise it's like little green angels singing. I'm now going to teach English in France, and I've already incorporated the song into my lesson plans!
Padraic
I have loved this song for over 20 years! When I started courting my wife Andrea, I used to serenade her with this song in the local park, so it has special memories for us both. I don't think I'll ever tire of hearing that wonderful chorus!
Dave
I have had the images and the melody in my head for years, but could never place it as i was so young when i saw it. i heard it 6 years ago by accident, and broke down immediatly. my wife is pregnant and i want my child to hear it too. one of my favorite memories, dave from vermont, formally ireland

I used to have Rupert & The Frog Song on audio cassette with read along book and my sister and I used to listen to it and read along each night at bedtime when we were little. I Still have the book and remember the audio cassette so well but sadly dont know what happened 2it. Im now 25 and married with a daughter. I read the story to her recently and surprised myself when I animatedly performed the voices exactly as I remembered them from the cassette. Fantastic memories, my sister who is now 18 has just borrowed the book from me to read tonight at bedtime!!! Thats what made me decide to look for the song on the internet and im so glad I found this site.
Linda
I used to play this song and video when I was pregnant (because I felt like a fat frog) but the words meant a lot to me at the time after having suffered 4 miscarriages before. My daughter is now almost 18! So something must of worked!
Lucas
I loved the video when I was a child....I'm 23 now, and guess what?, I still love it!
Adam
I don't believe that I've found this clip.
All my life I had one song and melody in my mind. I was looking this song but haven't good results.

Today I 'm happy - You tube has this clip. Now I have tears in eyes. I remember when I heart this music in 80's - I loved it! This melody and clip was great moments for me 20 years ago.All my live I had this melody in my mind but today I know that this song created Paul. Love songs - great - thank you very much.

Thank you for this website.

I had just bought the dvd featuring the three animated videos by Geoff and Paul and then stumbled upon this page out of curiosity.

Rupert and the frog song brings me back to my childhood and makes me cry. It is just so human and brilliant, so good. Hopeful and cheering, yet moving.

Merry Christmas to everybody and Rupert, too.
Joop
Dear Matt Blank, Many thanks! I enjoy your "Rupert and the frog song" website. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Regards from Joop
Frog Fan
I think that the song should be re-released and nothing done to change the song just re-master the video to the song and perhaps a special edition where the video is a part of the single.
Cez and Nicky
We both loved the big fat frogs, it brings a tear to my eye every time i hear it.

Many Thanks
Annelien (The Netherlands)

I was talking to my nearly three year old last night while putting her down for the night and rupert popped into my head. I am now 37 years old born in South Africa now living in the US!~ What the heck and why did that thought cree into my mind! What a worm sense of love I felt for her state of innocence and how blessed I was to have this bond with her. I tried to sing her the rupert the bear song - I totally made it up and she loved it! Now all I want to do is introduce her to Rupert the bear-THANKS for the wonderful remains that Rupert has planted somewhere in my mind, now I can share that with my two children.
Cheers.
Clara
Wow. i had totally forgotten about this film, or song until on TV the other day I saw about a 2 second clip. that triggered something and all i could remember was being a spectator to some sort of sacred thing (now I know that was Rupert and the very rare frog performance) and that the frogs had shiny eyelids, i wasn't sure if it was fantasia or something but i thought not as I didn't really watch that. But i just found it on youtube by searching 'frog song', i remember that orange fish, those lady frogs in those dresses floating, the dad and this son, the other lady frog and the king and queen at the end!! and most of all how it is so sacred and rupert gazing in which i still cant quite remember, i gotta find the entire episode...

P.S. I think i was about 3 when i watched this, when i lived in London. now I've just turned 18, was so long ago!!
Naomi - Spain
I've been looking for ages for this song and video. I was 5 years old when i first heard it, and until today, I still remembered the tune, but looking at McCartney's albums, I could not find it! When I finally found it yesterday, lots of memories came back to me, my childhood in London, my school mates, my mother signing the song to me...I've realized that I am getting old! Neways, its always nice to hear something that takes you back in time, although sometimes it is a sad feeling...i really miss that time of my life!!
Martin M
i was 6 when i first heard this fab song.I was telling my girlfriend and the kids about my best xmas ever opening my presents and this song being on tv.
Lyzz, Kansas City Missouri
I was 2 years old the first time I saw the short film. I was talking to my mom today about Rupert and how he brings back so many wonderful childhood memories for me. She says that she thinks that in 1985 it was on Channel 8 in Phoenix, where we lived at the time. She recorded it, not knowing where to find it and I would watch it at least once every morning before going to preschool. Now that I'm married and thinking about kids, I can't help but come back to Rupert. Paul did such a wonderful job with this short film and the music is awesome. I am so glad I stumbled upon this site... brought tears to my eyes.

Despite the fact I was a young teenager when this song and video came out it became a very firm favourite in my house. I would put it on the record player and dance around on Christmas day with my parents! Somehow it brought the childhood spirit of christmas back. It still makes the hairs on my neck stand up and I now dance around to it with my own little one!
Billy, Maryland USA
When i first saw Rupert and the frog song i can remember sitting on the floor gazing up at the television. My parents use to play this for me when i was little, my dad tells me i would get so excited when the song began. I'm 20 now, but i still get that wonderful feeling when i see the movie or hear the song. I'm sure everyone gets that feeling, the song has such a mesmerizing flow. Such a great movie, great message, great story, great song. If i ever have kids i'll love watching it with them.

I was introduced to Rupert Bear when I was 5 yrs old (1951 )...loved him from first meeting, the adventures and the magical settings and landscapes that he was suddenly projected into, plus the good chums and curious, surrealist characters that just appeared suddenly in the Nutwood are. This all fired my imagination and has had an enormous influence on my development as a mural painter.

The appearance of the Frog Song when my son was 3 years old was so perfect to introduce him to that kind, beautiful, gentle and magical world a great fondness for frogs of course developed and tadpoles were found for a very small pond in the garden. His interest in natural history and the environment had started, and still continues as a design student at the R.C.A. We still sing it and I am sure it has greatly added to the imagination of a young Eco designer.

I don't know if I am just nostalgically running on, but I am so grateful to that wonderful video, the music, the settings, the animation and the ethics of the Frog Song I am now introducing it to the third generation the world so needs that essential gentleness.

Wishing you lots of fun with your wonderful site!
Aimee
I remember this song when I was little and now i showed it to my little girl and she will love this song forever like me and it will go on to all my other children to.

My first memory is the "original soundtrack" that MACCA did for his kids. He originally put this soundtrack for Rupert on 4 or 5 vinyl discs for himself (and family) and gave copies to each member of Wings (Laine, Juber, Holly) for their kids to enjoy. The few of us who got (get) to here it are VERY lucky and still wish for the final release. This soundtrack is very melancholia for me and really hits home to the late 70's for me as well. My newest son, Zander, now gets to enjoy Rupert's ventures through the original 80's release as well as dipping into MACCA's original soundtrack for some melancholia of his own. "Sea Melody" still makes me cry thinking about linda and the kids (when they were young).

I loved Rupert the Bear! Infact I still do! I have been a Ruper the Bear fan ever since I can remember. My grandmother bought me a Rupert the Bear toy when I was little and I still have him now, sitting on my bed. It was the best gift I have ever recieved and I treasure him dearly. I remember the old Rupert video's I used to have. Gee! I havent watched those in ages. And I still have them in the loft (somewhere) .. and I'll never get tired of watching them over and over again!

I love all his adventures, especially the one where Rupert has a flying bike and Rupert and Podgy go on a ship, and they have to peal potatoes, and Podgy eats all the cookies! And another one, where Rupert meets some friends whilst visiting this man, I can't remember his name now, but he has some kind of necklace, anyway, these little men want it, but there's 2 groups of them, and one of them rhymes, and Rupert gets caught in some weed of some sort, and then near the end they throw apples and that, and then there is a fire ... (its not very clear what i'm trying to describe but I haven't seen it in years!)

I also remember... (I know I drag on).. but I do remember a video, of when Podgy gets the measles of something and he has to get an antidote and he goes to these fairy's but there is a black pixie and he is the only one that has it, and then ... well I cant remember it all now.. but I'm definatly going to get those video's down! Hehe.. then I'll remember! Good old time... anyway, to all you Rupert lovers out there.. do tell me some of the video's I have spoken about if you can remember too... that way I'll know which of my favourites to watch!

Thanks xx
Paula Magalhes
In the 80s this music/video was a big success in Portugal. I was 7 years old when I saw it for the first time... and now with 28 years old I still think that this video is amazing (and still remember the lyrics 🙂 )

My first frog music video was Roger Glover "Love Is All". When it was on telly my mother called me immediately, because i enjoyed it so much in a time that the videoclip was a rare phenomenon. The 'Frog song" (i thought it was called 'We All Stand Together') was a sort of part II. The fairytale atmosphere & the sweet 'Miow, Miow Miow' singing background cats, the barriton bass 'Bom, BomBom! It is just the ultimate feel good song for my concern. Even now i am 36 it still causes the same feeling. Greetings from Holland!

I was 8 when it came out. I loved the frogs and all the different voices. And the whole adventure of that little bear. I always wished I was him! Being witness of this mysterious, secret gathering of singing animals! And that unforgettable moment that the royal red fish jumped out of the water. What a climax! Beautiful song, beautiful video, beautiful memory! Certainly playing if for my son!
Brigitte
Keeping in mind that i was only born the year it came out, whenever i hear 'we all stand together' i get the most awesome goosebumps! Great memories! Good ones that i hope my children will one day share too! Beautiful website! Thank you Sir Paul for all the beautiful and even tearful memories! (most of them Beatles memories! - BIG FAN) I love you Mwaaah

I was 7 when this came out and I absolutely loved it - the song, the video - because I was an avid collector of Rupert annuals and it encapsulated his world so completely. I grew up a bit and forgot about it but a few years later we sang it as a school choir in the Oxford children's Festival of Voices. It felt great sing it in such a large group, with all the slight variations, treble, bass etc, just like the original. I got such a buzz - what a lovely heart-warming song. They should make it the national anthem!!!
Caroline
I can't quite remember the circumstances, but my parents gave me this video when I was 20 years old, presumably because I enjoyed the song and was just a big kid at heart. When I left home I also left behind my Rupert video which has since been enjoyed by many children staying at my parent's house. Now living in New Zealand, I returned home with my 2 children this summer and the video (now 22 years old) was still being played and enjoyed by all the kids. Since getting back to NZ I have been on a quest to get another copy so I can introduce our small farming community to the joys of Rupert!
Monica
They used to play this video on TV every evening, in Mexico City, back in the 80's. I loved it so much, thank you!

I will never forget the day I first saw the episode of Rupert the Bear and the Frog Song. I was about 14 years old. At the time I was living in Grenada. I was over at a friend's house watching the tv. When Rupert the Bear came on I said to myself, "hey I haven't seen him in a while!" The story line was very interesting so I was glued! I was so amazed at the harmony of the voices that I became hypnotized. I remember leaving my friend's house feeling extremely happy and full of joy as I sung the line 'we all stand together' with a skip in my steps and a smile on my face.

When I got home I told my brothers and sisters about the episode I had witnessed and how heavenly the frogs were singing but they had not seen or heard them like I had so they could not fully share my experience. For many years I searched video stores looking for the episode until I gave up my searching. Then as fate would have it I saw it on tv but it was just a special progamme featuring Rupert and the Frog Song. I did not get to hear the frogs sing again, but I was overjoyed to see a distant but ever present fondest of childhood memories again. But I could never forget how I felt that day watching Rupert listening to the frogs singing, the Bass frogs!!! We all stand together!!! I am now a grown man living in Barbados now, yet of all my childhood experiences and adventures, none has ever been so enchanting than watching of that episode of Rupert the Bear the sound of the Frog Song. Today I have finally found you. Thank you Sir Paul for a wonderful childhood memory that will be with me in heart... in mind... in soul...forever.

The first and only time I saw this video ... I was 19 years old, I was broke, and living alone in an apartment in the dusty city of Leon, Mexico. It was a lonely night in 1991 and I was watching one of the two channels that my old TV could tune in. It was 2 am and I was starting to drift off to sleep. However, instead of displaying the flag and playing the Mexican anthem as the TV station always did at 2 am when they ended their programming day, with no warning at all, they instead showed a video of a young bear that got lost and stumbled upon a midnight frog orchestra, and ended up saving the day. I watched and I was stunned. It was beautiful. It went on for quite a while, but when it ended it was too soon. Pure and enchanting animation, wonderful music. Such imagination and feeling. I stayed up many nights after that hoping they would play it again, but they never did. It was a one-off. So affected was I by what I had seen and heard, I never forgot about it. Not for 15 years. "We All Stand Together." It was always in the back of my mind. So today, at the age of 34, living in Canada, I finally decided to do some internet research and find out about that hauntingly beautiful cartoon musical that had imprinted in my memory. And now I finally know. I'm going to have to buy it so I can watch it, in it's entirety ... for a second time. I'll play it for my kids one day, only, they'll be younger than 19 when they first see it.
Gina
I love rupert so much , and i watch it everyday at 11am on YTV but i just found out that there not going to show it anymore, and im so sad!!
Gillian McCallum
I used to want to get Rupert and the Frog Song out of the video shop so often when I was younger that the video shop owner gave it to us!! I still have the video - the cover's very old and battered though!!
Anna
I had this on a video with some other cartoons, one was called 'seaside woman' and the other was a really weird one with Linda McCartney, something about a nightfish! Anyway, me and my sister absolutely loved this video and wore it out 🙁

We all stand together!
Diane English
I had the book, I only saw the video once on T.V. I have the video now though. I remember practising singing the song.
Charlotte Barber
My memory of this video is when my brother and me were small and we used to go to our grandparents house every weekend. We would sit in front of the tv and watch the film over and over. Thank you Sir Paul for giving me such a wonderful memory xxxxxxxx

I remember seeing this 20 years ago. I still remember the song. It is stuck in my head! My husband thinks I am insane for liking it in my 30's. My 10 year old son likes it now too.
Rod Aries
Kudos to Paul McCartney for including Rupert in this song. It was certainly popular in my secondary class at the time.

I've just revisited some of those memories of the TV series and it was pure gold. I'm glad to hear that the stories will continue to entertain new generations.
Patricia Somers
My older sister made me and my 2 other sisters sit and say the bur bur bur bit.It brings back great memories and i get a lump in my throat everytime i hear it.

I am only 16 but I remember the rupert shows from when I was very young. I used to watch it all the time at my grandma's house. I loved waiting to see what adventure he would start on. I really do think that he is my favorite cartoon teddy bear idol. I would love to see some of the shows again. I'll remember him forever. Love ya Rupert!
Jonathan Gale
When I was five I took the Frog Song single to my first primary school disco. Everyone loved me that night. needless to say thats where my popularity ended.

Doug Marshall
The frog dance was beautiful as anything Disney ever did, and the song was as charming as anything Disney ever did. A lovely charming movie to watch with your kids and hug each other and feel good.
Rupert
When I first heard it I was overjoyed because my name is Rupert and my favourite character in the world would be Rupert the bear. I do like frogs and I got one today. It was a toy.
I like to sing and I like to dance and I
like to listen to other songs.
Kat Lomas
When my daughter, Claire, was 4 years old at home in England (we are now in Ontario) this was her favourite song. We first heard it and watched the video on 'Top of the Pops', which is being withdrawn from TV...boo-hoo! Claire now has a daughter of her own, Hailey, who is 5 years old. I am making a CD and music book for Hailey, with all of her mum's favourite childhood songs. This will be a marvellous addition.
Cheers to all who love Rupert!
Amy
My parents taped this cartoon, and my siblings and I grew up watching it. It always enthralled us! I love the King's Singers, and I was recently thrilled to discover the fact that they sing in the frog chorus. Just another reason that this cartoon is so magical!
Leon
It's my all time favourite song !!!! Bom Bom Bom
Scott Weller
I own the original VHS copy and used to watch it alot as a kid. I think i'll go crank it up again. peace

My parents taped this for me when I was a child. I love this cartoon! The song is wonderful and I remember rewinding and listening to it over and over again.

When my son and daughter were young ( about 20 years ago) we rented Rupert the Frog Song from a small video store. We practically wore the video out . After we returned the video, we tried renting it again several months later put could not find it. We loved the music. My son and daughter are grown but for years I had been humming that song!!

Luckily , we purchased the DVD last week and will always be able to relive the tunes and animation( and the memories)

Jasper
Well, I have seen the video before, but today at a festival, I've seen the video again. I'm just 20 years old, so it's before my time actually...

But the song/video is very addicting!

Jasper K. , Diepenheim - Netherlands
Helen Dearnley
I loved this song when I was a little girl in the 1980's! It combined 2 of my favourite things in the world; The Beatles and Rupert! 2nd only to Yellow Submarine as my favourite song. The video is adorable!

I don't want Rupert to have a large tan coloured head - it's Wrong!
Sara Kremer
He hello! I am from Holland and two years old. My dad is a beatle fan.. never mind.. He bought me the DVD. Although I can not understand the english words, i am asking every day to see the movie. I am an addict. My dad is looking right now for a real Rupert Bear on the internet. "Pom Pom Pom" is what i am saying the whole day..

My five year old son was desperately ill following a second lot of heart surgery in which he received an artificial valve- he was tethered by an external pacemaker, and ECG machine and two drips. The video of the Frog Song was on the ward, and it became the focus for our hope that with the support of the clinical team and all his family together, he would survive.
When he came out of hospital (with an internal pacemaker!) we bought a copy of the video, and a machine to play it on, on the way home.
My son has survived - now 25 - and the sound of the Frog Song reminds me of the hope, skill, courage and support that got us through those grim days in 1986 and 87.
Diana
I totally forgot about the show until my dad pulled out the paul mccartney cd with the frog song on it! then i asked my friends with they remembered it and they did! i wish i could find the tape that i watched a long time ago! The song is wonderful as well
Discostu
This was the 1st single i ever owned, and i played it and played it to death!

Until one sad day i put it on the radiator and forgot about it, and the heat warped it, i still to this day have not cried as much as i did then! 🙁

but i recently purchased it off ebay, all i need now is a record player!
Amy
I watched this in school, to learn how to play it I love the whole episode it so sweet and nice I love the song soooo much!!!!
Molly
I used to watch this all the time when I was little... My grandmother taped it from the Disney Channel and sent it to us. I remember watching it with my father and being in complete awe at the frog king and queen at the end of the song.

I dug out the tape last night and watched it - Each movement of the animation seems implanted in my memory, it's amazing how much a little child can pick up. I really wish this DVD was available in America, it's so nostalgic for me!
Alberto Piumatti
Grazie di questa bella canzone Paul...Alberto 3 anni.....La Thuile...

(Thanks for this beautiful song Paul... Alberto 3 years old.....La Thuile...)
Bernardo Santos
Hi people!

I remember how I used to love this little movie when I was a kid. I'd love to have the DVD, but in my country (Portugal) this movie isn't available in DVD. I have it in a small old tape.

This movie brings me also many childhood memories. I still love it as much as then. It's a small huge masterpiece.

Sir Paul McCartney made a great job! He and everyone who worked on it. That song "We All Stand Together" is amazing too! Everything is awesome in this movie.

One last thing: this movie was made in 1984 (I was born in that year).
Ally
I'd forgotten about this until the other day

Remind me of being a kid at christmas, sitting by our old music system with my dads huge headphones on, putting the record on and listening to it as quietly as i could because my dad didn't like us messing with his records as we used to break them!

Should re-release it IMO!
John Salinas
I have such found memories of Dear Great "Rupert and the Frog Song".

I guess we never grow up but with friends like them it was easy.

One of those songs which instantly transport me back to being 5 years old - thanks for this website - my husband had never heard of this and didn't believe it was a real piece of music when I started singing it. Thank you for letting me show him the real thing, and for letting me re-live a real slice of bing a very little girl. Thank you.
Amy B
OMGOSH! This song is SO heart warming. A song that my family love. Listened to it as a child over and over. Always will

Joanne Barnard
I remember this song so well now i have seen the video again. Yesterday i started singing it for no reason at all and wanted to find out any websites this is the best and only one dedicated completely and its great!
Colin
Love the website! I used to wake up every morning at 5 o'clock because a local radio station in N. Ireland played the song every day, sometime between 5 and 7. Well worth an early morning! Now my daughters love me to sing it to them.
Richard Z
Very nice looking site, with useful info about this classic by Paul. Thanks again for the help Matt!

Bought the animation dvd with my little niece in mind.Always a good excuse to make your McCartney collection complete. I admit watching the "Rupert and the frog song" movie brought back memories of when I was so much younger then today. Believe it was my first contact with music, and certainly the first time I liked something what an ex Beatle did. Tho at that time I didn't know who Paul McCartney or the Beatles was.
Mier
Tears in my eyes. To see the video fragment after so many years. Many many thanx !!!
Jonathan
I remember when i was a child and my father turned on the tv and together we watched the video.
Maike (netherlands)
Hello, great site and it's a great song. when i hear the song i'm always smiling.
Michelle K
Like Olivia Lightfoot, who posted before me, i'm 18 too, and i just stumbled across this site and watched the video then. all my childhood memories came flooding back to me. We hired it from the local video shop so often. it reminds me of watching it with the chicken pox.

I wish i could watch it again. the part where he asks his father if he can go out, or something, and he stand there rocking back and forth on his little white shoes. and how the mother calls "RUUUPPPPERRT!!... RUUUUUUUUUUPPPPPERT!!" at the end.

i can still distinctly remember the sound of Rupert's feet clicking on the wet cave floor. haha i like that sound.
Olivia Lightfoot
As with so many other people on this site, I remember the VHS of this wonderful Rupert Bear and the song brings back memories of my childhood. Being 18 now, it probably doesn't sound all that long ago but the words came rushing back to me when I heard the sound clip. Thanks for creating this page, fantastic job!
Shanghai
i still have this, and i made all of my friends watch it on my recent 17th birthday. I love it even to this day, its a cult classic!

i think it made me what i am today...weird!

You made dreams come true & mine too. Beautiful & lovely page.
Charlotte Martin
I remember my Dad playing this on video for me. Brings back so many warm memories of sitting in front of the fire in pyjamas! Thank you for bringing back the memories.
Josie
My gran used to put this song on for me my sister and my 2 cousins and we all used to sing to it
Ian Jones
This has to be one of the strongest childhood memories i have. Seeing the video for the first time. I remember having the LP. I have now found the song & the video. Absolutely brilliant.
Lara dos Santos
Paul McCartney is almost in every single memory I have from being a child, since my dad was, and still is by the way, a HUGE Beatles fan. And a Paul McCartney fan in particular. Being daddy's little girl, Paul was of course also my favourite. (At the age of 10 I even won a quiz, being the only one who could answer the question: Who played bass in the Beatles?) From all songs of the Beatles, and Paul McCartney and the Wings etc., I love the frog song the most. It was absolutely magic, and frankly, it still is. Right now, I'm 'only' 18, and I hope this song will be as magic to my children, one day, as it was to me and all the other kids in the world. Dad, thank you for this great memories... My happiest childhood memories will always include you, the Beatles, and our adventures in Amsterdam whilst sitting on your shoulders. I love you!
Erik Sloet
One of the most enchanting creations that I loved as a child.
Simon Dowling
I'm so happy I've found this site, I loved this cartoon as a kid, my dad has the vinyl of the track somewhere! Now if only I could find the complete video...
Daphne
I love Rupert and the Frog Song. I have the 7" cut out picture disc and the video. I was also fortunate enough, last year, to visit the 'Fairy Glen', in North Wales, where Alfred Bestall, the second illustrator of Rupert, was reputed to have drawn the inspiration for the the Rupert Story.
Mary
I watched this at my friend's house when i was around 5 (i'm now 20!). We really loved it, the video had a few other things on it, a linda McCartney animation too, called "sea side woman."

We were quite obsessed as kids, and watched it every day. Really nostalgic hearing it again!
Ger
Yeh, I think that We all stand together is a very good song. I really love it. I thin PAUL IS THE BEST
Kim
I have loved rupert bear and gang since i was 1 because my dad bought him for my 1st birthday. i am now 34 and still have my rupert bear. He still looking good.
India Altman
My grandma had a copy of Rupert And The Frog Song and i played it over and over so many times the tape player broke! I loved Seaside Woman, as my grandma's house was also on the beach. I can remember the ending of the Oriental Nightfish terrified me- when the woman flies into the sun and explodes really loudly with flashing lights- still freaks me out!
Brenton
I am 20 and from Sydney, Australia. By pure stroke of luck I somehow in my early childhood came into possession of a VHS tape that had Rupert and the frog song along with Oriental Night Fish and Seaside Woman. These three cartoons (particularly the frog song)quickly found a place in my heart where it has lived ever since-If it weren't for Rupert and Willy Wonka my childhood would have been vastly different!
Claire
Hey, I'm 16 and live in Basingstoke. This song is just great! In my primary school we used to sing it all the time and then we got a new music teacher and she stopped us listening to it. Today I heard this song on a music channel at a mates house and it brought back so many memories! Its such a great song and Im glad I heard it again!
Megan Terry
I am 4 years old and I really love the frog chorus and so does my Daddy.
Simon
For years I have used this song in schools, the children love singing it.
Rachel
I remember this song like I've heard it only five minutes ago. I swear by it, no matter how much time passes, I will never be able to forget such a movie that sticks out in my mind.
Ben Smith
I can't believe it's 21 years since this song was released. Makes me feel old. Great memories though and a great website.
Evelyn
Every time I hear this song it takes me back to my childhood. Even now I like it as much as I did back then and my son now also likes it too.
Sarah Warren (age 12)
I know i haven't been around to see much of the history about this song , but i still have a memory:

I remember when i was about 3 and i used to practically worship rupert and i loved the frog song. Sadly my video has long since been wrecked and binned but i still remember the story.

My friend Josie and i still sing it at school though!!!
Erica O'Mahony
My husband and I both remember singing this song in school assembly during the Christmas season and it brings back lovely memories for us both! Excellent to see again. My 3 month old seems to enjoy it too!
Kirsty Welch
My first ever single at the age of 1. I loved this song. It shaped my life as a great socialist anthem 'we all stand together'
Maria Cardoso
Hi! I'm from Portugal, I'm 21 and you don't imagine the joy I had when today I turned on my radio and started to listen this music. I remember when I was a little child and loved this song. It was fantastic!!
Phil Pryce
Great Website. Probably the best Rupert one I've seen. Your use of bright eye catching colours and graphics is very impressive. It's a credit to Rupert!
Liz
My dad played it to me wen i was about 9, i loved it!!!! i'm only 17 now tho, so it was kinda before my time, but my older brother and sister grew up with it. i still dig the old vid out occasionally and watch it if i've got a spare 20 minutes or so.
Richard Page
Dude what a tune..... i remember it so well, shame you don't have the full song to play.
Pablo
Great song, I still can remember the video, saw it when I was 7 years old. Good times were those.
Robert
I remember it like if it was yesterday. I was nine and the video was on tv and after that I was trapped!!
Alex Mozumder
I think the video positively influenced any 80's child who watched it. I have only one very early memory of seeing it, but still remember the tune and and the incredible feeling of peace and love it conveyed.
Emma Senitt
My parents are and have always been huge Beatles fans so when the frog song came out (i was coming up to 5, my older brother 7 and younger brother just born) my parents got it straight away. i remember my dad doing impressions of the frogs and singing the frog song during thunder storms to keep us happy. And watching the video on rainy sundays whilst my brothers played football
Dona
I first saw Rupert and the Frog Song on MTV in the 80's (I think it was that) and only caught a little bit of it. I tried to find out about it as I was a huge fan of Rupert Bear but it wasn't until I was able to search the Internet that I found out more about it. I now own two singles and the DVD.
Lauren Rich
I remember watching the video on Top of the Pops and singing along going "bom bom bom ba-ee-ah" - I used to laugh every time. I was 5 in 1984. I would love to see it again. Considering I'm a Paul McCartney fan it's something I should definitely own!!
Alan Murray
Nice website ... the first time I heard "R. and the Frog Song", it brought tears to my eyes. For most of Rupert's Followers, it's the best Rupert animation of them all. Oh for the full feature film...
Charles Barron
This was great when it came out and still is. Can't wait to introduce it to my child who will be born in March!
Heather Stevenson
I just wanna say Rupert and the Frog Song inspired me because my dad left when I was a little girl and he used to play that for me to put me to sleep. I mean I still see him and all, it just brings back a lot of memories. God bless.
Matt Blank
I loved watching Rupert And The Frog Song when I was a kid in the 1980's. I even wore out my video! And now in the 21st Century, my nephew, who's only three, is thoroughly enjoying it since I bought the DVD for him. It's great that the magic of this cartoon can carry on living...
