MediaHaving grown up reading hand-me-down Rupert annuals, I'd never seen him on screen so when I saw the VHS in a local video rental shop in 1985 I had to rent it. The tape was in a bad way, a previous borrower must have emptied a hoover bag into their VCR because I was only able to watch it properly once I had run the tape through ours and then used a cleaning tape several times. That's a lot of work for a seven year-old, but it was worth it.
